Catch-up for December!

So I have been slacking the past couple of weeks because of the holidays. We have been pretty busy and it is usually pretty difficult to get things posted with a regular schedule! So where should I start. Oh for my birthday last month, Matt and I went out to dinner earlier in the week and had Grandma and Grandpa Sutton babysit. That was a lot of fun, but tiring when we try to venture out in the middle of the week! Then that Friday Matt took me to this cute bed and breakfast that we have been wanting to go to called the Alaskan Inn up the Ogden Canyon. It was pretty cool and really fun to get away. It was the perfect time to go because it was really snowy up there and just makes it feel more like getting away to a little cabin. All of the rooms are themed and ours was the Eagle's Nest! Here is a picture from their website.

The next day we got together with all of Matt's family and headed to Temple Square to look at Christmas lights. I thought it would be fun for all of us to take the Front Runner down and eat at The Pantry before hand. Matt had to snow plow that afternoon so he was going to meet us there. I packed Keagan and I and headed to the station 20 minutes early so I wouldn't miss it. Matt's family were already on from the Layton station and were waiting for me. Just when I pulled up, I saw the train coming. I tried my hardest to make it but the train left like two minutes early and I could not get my stroller through the snow fast enough! How frustrating. So I waited for Matt and we just drove down and met everyone there. It ended up being a lot of fun. We walked around for a while and left right as it was starting to snow hard.

Shortly after was Christmas but I was terrible and forgot our camera. I will have to steal so pictures from my Mother-in-law later. New Year's snuck up on us so quick. Matt's younger brother left for the MTC on New Year's Eve and it was an emotional day. It was really fun for Matt to see this experience for his brother and remember what is was like for him when he left. Christopher was so excited and ready to go. He will be serving in the Mexico Monterrey Mission and will leave the MTC about March to go to Mexico. That night we all went to my sister-in-law's house and played Rook and watched movies. We bailed at about ten. We were really tired from the excitement from the day!

I almost forgot about the get-together we had after Christopher's farewell. He did a really good job on his talk. I was so proud of him. He is the closest relative I have had to go on a mission. Even though he is my brother-in-law he feels like he is my real brother and I feel so happy for him to be doing this great thing, and I can't wait to see what blessing are in store from it! After his talk I swear everyone that had ever heard of Christopher came over. There was a point that you couldn't even see the living room carpet because all of his friends were sitting on it that there wasn't and inch of room. It was pretty busy for a while but then things calmed down. Later on that night, Keagan decided that he wanted to go out in the garage with the other kids. Too bad he doesn't know how to walk down stairs, only scoot down them. He must have gotten brave and tried and failed. He fell down the cement stairs and landed on his eye I'm guessing. This was the results of the fall!
Well as soon as I get Christmas pictures I'll post them. Have a great new year!

Thanksgiving and More

So I am embarrassed to say that I didn't get any pictures at Thanksgiving! We did have a lot of food and fun though. Everyone was there on Matt's side of the family except my sister-in-law Jenny and her family. They were with her husband's family this year. We ate in the early afternoon and then went to see a movie right after. This year we saw Madagascar 2. It was a really cute movie. We took Keagan and he loved it. As long as he had his popcorn, he was fine. Towards the end he started to get louder and louder. He kept trying to tell all of us what was going on in the movie! Grandma was nice enough to take Keagan to the front doors to finish. The next day I went shopping with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husband. We got into the line for Target at 4 AM and waited till six when they opened! It was a lot of fun talking to people in line that early in the morning. The best part was that we all got what we wanted from the door-buster deals! I will have to say that if Target has good deals next year, we will have to go again! Today we did retakes of our family pictures. Matt and I were just unhappy with the way the others turned out that we wanted to redo them. Here are a couple that my mother-in-law and sister-in-law snapped for us. I can't wait for the other to come out!

Play Time or Nap Time??

So recently I have been trying to get Keagan to just stay in his own room and play while I shower. Lately he has been getting a little too curious about mom and dad's bodies when we get ready! This seems like the most practical situation for now, since he cannot open a door yet, unless I want to get up early in the morning to get ready. Let's face it, who wants to set an alarm every morning to shower if you don't have too?? Maybe I'm just overreacting but I figure it is time for him to be out of the room when I shower now! So I just put him in his bedroom and shut the door so he can play with his toys. His room is probably the only complete "toddler-proof" room in the entire house! At first he played fine (I had the baby monitor on so I could hear) and then he started to cry for a minute. I got out of the shower and dressed and realized that it was way too quiet. There was no baby talk or laughing or crying. I knew I would find something good so I grabbed the camera and headed to the door. I tried to open his door but it wouldn't budge. That's when I realized that Keagan had grabbed a blankie from the shelf and curled up on the floor and fell asleep! I squeezed my way in and took some quick pictures. And if you know my kid, you know that he can't keep pants on him when he sleeps, so in was no surprise to me that he took his off before crashing! He of course woke right up and started to do his little sleep talking because he was so confused! Poor kid didn't even know he was supposed to be playing, not napping!

Tagged!

I got tagged and didn't even know it. Sometimes I forget to look at the bottoms of these things to see if I am tagged so sorry!
1. One weird thing about me that some people might not know is that my two front teeth are fake. Well at least the bottom half of them. Two completely separate accidents made them that way too!
2. Another weird thing about me that I'm sure some of you know is, like Angie, my fear of feet. Especially men's feet! I think I have a phobia worse than Angie's though because I won't even let Matt's feet close to me. Sometimes maybe if he has socks on, but that is asking a lot! He loves to torture me with that!
3. I never found myself as "beautiful" growing up. In fact I can remember being almost nineteen before I could think of myself as "beautiful". Growing up around kids that thought of sex as just another thing to do on the weekends was hard. I didn't think that same way so finding boys that supported that decision was hard or impossible! So when you are the only one not getting a date for one of the High School dances, you self esteem gets shot down. I am glad I outgrew that stage of life!
4. I have a little OCD problem. If you even watch me closely it comes out when I'm not even expecting it. I don't like it when Matt cleans the house because there is a place for everything in our house. And if things are not cleaned the way I do it, I will redo it! With our clothes and even Keagan's clothes, I rotate the newly clean clothes to the bottom and the older, clean clothes to the top, so everything is worn at an equal pace! I know I am weird!
5. I never really had a lot of friends that were girls growing up. You can almost call it a fear because everytime I found a group of girls to be friends with, they would do something mean and backstabbing! Guys didn't really care that much about that stuff!
6. Another random thing about me is that I get bored easy, with everything! From my hair down to which day of the week that I do laundry!
7. My biggest fear in life is failure. I am scared that I will fail as a mother, wife, and friend. I have a hard time setting goals or milestones to accomplish so that way I can't fail. I have a bad habit of comparing myself to others that I see better than myslef. I am constantly working on this and it is a daily struggle. I just don't want to wake up one day and find my children grown and miserable from the way I raised them! I know though that if I keep trying, I can get better and have more confidence in myself!
I tag Sam, Jamie, Jenny, and Cristi

Trunk-or-Treat

On Tuesday night we took Keagan to my mother-in-law's trunk-or-treat. Since we missed ours, partly because they had it like the first weekend in October, we thought we should go to theirs. It ended up being a lot of fun. Keagan does make a pretty funny monkey! I didn't get a lot of pictures but since Halloween is tomorrow, I'm sure there will be plenty more!
