Thanksgiving and More

So I am embarrassed to say that I didn't get any pictures at Thanksgiving! We did have a lot of food and fun though. Everyone was there on Matt's side of the family except my sister-in-law Jenny and her family. They were with her husband's family this year. We ate in the early afternoon and then went to see a movie right after. This year we saw Madagascar 2. It was a really cute movie. We took Keagan and he loved it. As long as he had his popcorn, he was fine. Towards the end he started to get louder and louder. He kept trying to tell all of us what was going on in the movie! Grandma was nice enough to take Keagan to the front doors to finish. The next day I went shopping with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husband. We got into the line for Target at 4 AM and waited till six when they opened! It was a lot of fun talking to people in line that early in the morning. The best part was that we all got what we wanted from the door-buster deals! I will have to say that if Target has good deals next year, we will have to go again! Today we did retakes of our family pictures. Matt and I were just unhappy with the way the others turned out that we wanted to redo them. Here are a couple that my mother-in-law and sister-in-law snapped for us. I can't wait for the other to come out!

Play Time or Nap Time??

So recently I have been trying to get Keagan to just stay in his own room and play while I shower. Lately he has been getting a little too curious about mom and dad's bodies when we get ready! This seems like the most practical situation for now, since he cannot open a door yet, unless I want to get up early in the morning to get ready. Let's face it, who wants to set an alarm every morning to shower if you don't have too?? Maybe I'm just overreacting but I figure it is time for him to be out of the room when I shower now! So I just put him in his bedroom and shut the door so he can play with his toys. His room is probably the only complete "toddler-proof" room in the entire house! At first he played fine (I had the baby monitor on so I could hear) and then he started to cry for a minute. I got out of the shower and dressed and realized that it was way too quiet. There was no baby talk or laughing or crying. I knew I would find something good so I grabbed the camera and headed to the door. I tried to open his door but it wouldn't budge. That's when I realized that Keagan had grabbed a blankie from the shelf and curled up on the floor and fell asleep! I squeezed my way in and took some quick pictures. And if you know my kid, you know that he can't keep pants on him when he sleeps, so in was no surprise to me that he took his off before crashing! He of course woke right up and started to do his little sleep talking because he was so confused! Poor kid didn't even know he was supposed to be playing, not napping!

Tagged!

I got tagged and didn't even know it. Sometimes I forget to look at the bottoms of these things to see if I am tagged so sorry!
1. One weird thing about me that some people might not know is that my two front teeth are fake. Well at least the bottom half of them. Two completely separate accidents made them that way too!
2. Another weird thing about me that I'm sure some of you know is, like Angie, my fear of feet. Especially men's feet! I think I have a phobia worse than Angie's though because I won't even let Matt's feet close to me. Sometimes maybe if he has socks on, but that is asking a lot! He loves to torture me with that!
3. I never found myself as "beautiful" growing up. In fact I can remember being almost nineteen before I could think of myself as "beautiful". Growing up around kids that thought of sex as just another thing to do on the weekends was hard. I didn't think that same way so finding boys that supported that decision was hard or impossible! So when you are the only one not getting a date for one of the High School dances, you self esteem gets shot down. I am glad I outgrew that stage of life!
4. I have a little OCD problem. If you even watch me closely it comes out when I'm not even expecting it. I don't like it when Matt cleans the house because there is a place for everything in our house. And if things are not cleaned the way I do it, I will redo it! With our clothes and even Keagan's clothes, I rotate the newly clean clothes to the bottom and the older, clean clothes to the top, so everything is worn at an equal pace! I know I am weird!
5. I never really had a lot of friends that were girls growing up. You can almost call it a fear because everytime I found a group of girls to be friends with, they would do something mean and backstabbing! Guys didn't really care that much about that stuff!
6. Another random thing about me is that I get bored easy, with everything! From my hair down to which day of the week that I do laundry!
7. My biggest fear in life is failure. I am scared that I will fail as a mother, wife, and friend. I have a hard time setting goals or milestones to accomplish so that way I can't fail. I have a bad habit of comparing myself to others that I see better than myslef. I am constantly working on this and it is a daily struggle. I just don't want to wake up one day and find my children grown and miserable from the way I raised them! I know though that if I keep trying, I can get better and have more confidence in myself!
I tag Sam, Jamie, Jenny, and Cristi

Trunk-or-Treat

On Tuesday night we took Keagan to my mother-in-law's trunk-or-treat. Since we missed ours, partly because they had it like the first weekend in October, we thought we should go to theirs. It ended up being a lot of fun. Keagan does make a pretty funny monkey! I didn't get a lot of pictures but since Halloween is tomorrow, I'm sure there will be plenty more!

Corn Maze and Family Pictures

So this last weekend we had our annual Sutton family pictures done. Unfortunately for me I was too busy getting Keagan's attention to look at the camera that I only got one shot of him with Uncle Christopher and all of the cousins! Later that day we all went to this farm in Syracuse that has a corn maze and lots of stuff for the kids to do. Keagan had a really good time.

This was the giant slide that everyone went down. Of course Mom and Dad had to take turns taking Keagan down. Here are some pics of everyone going down it. It was pretty steep and Adrie's face is great when she gets to the bottom!

After everyone had enough of the slide, the kids all when on a "train ride". They all rode in painted plastic barrel pulled by a tractor. I still can't believe that Matt fit into one of those!

We all did the corn maze after the train. Matt, Keagan , and I were all getting tired after the maze and decided to check out the pig races. Keagan was a little distressed hearing the pigs squealing and started to mock their cries!

We let Keagan look at the farm animals after and then went home. It was a long but entertaining day!

Fun times in Colorado!

So we went to visit our friends Ben and Nicole over the weekend in Colorado. They just had a baby on the 23rd of September and it was so much fun! Little Treydon looks just like his daddy. It must be something that Ben and Matt have in common with their children looking like mini versions of themselves. I also got to go visit my grandparents that still live in Loveland. My grandma had knee surgery a few weeks back so she enjoyed the company. It was really fun seeing Ben and Nicole being parents for the first time. And I think it was good for them to have Keagan there to show them how to toddler-proof a house! If there was something to find, Keagan found it. He even found a couple of things that had been looking for themselves for a while now! This was a nice little three-day weekend vacation for us and our family. It also reminded us why we don't make long car rides with Keagan! He has no patience and for some reason had diarrhea the whole time! I won't go into details but we basically had to wash his carseat like four times this weekend! The only thing I regret is not being able to watch conference! And I forgot to DVR it before we left! Oh well, I guess that is why they print it right? Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Fun Weekend!

So last weekend the whole Sutton family went on a little outing to the woods to go 4-wheeling. It was a lot of fun and a well needed little break we all needed. Keagan had never seen a four wheeler or dirt bike before and they were pretty loud! He wasn't too sure about them at first but then he got rides from both daddy and aunt Jenny and loved it! It was nice for Matt and I to get some time together too without having to chase around Keagan! By the afternoon Keagan was soooo tired and would not take a nap. Jenny kept telling us to just take him on a short ride on the 4-wheeler and it would put him right to sleep. So after several other failed attempts to get him to sleep, Jenny took Keagan out for a ride. We kept laughing that it would never work and Jenny just wanted to prove us all wrong. Then about two minutes later, Jenny came around the corner with Keagan fast asleep in her arms! Well I guess I should have learned by now to be optimistic about stuff like that. Thanks Jenny! Here are our pictures from the trip!

Busy Busy August!

This is my first Blog on this website. I know too many people that have chosen to use this site rather than other's so I gave in and set up my own page. I can't promise that it will ever turn into something fancy just for the lack of time I have to put into it, as my child just dumped the entire desk shelf on the ground while I'm typing this! Well this month has been a busy one for our family! We moved in to our new house, I went to California with Keagan and my mom to visit my sisiter and her family, and Matt went with his family to Washington for his cousin's wedding, ALL IN A MATTER OF A WEEK AND A HALF!! I am amazed that we made it through it! The one thing that I do love about moving is that you can clean out all of the junk that you peobably would never have the time to do otherwise! I don't know how many dump loads we have done but it feels really good to get rid of all of that junk! Thanks to all of those who helped move that first night. Sadly I had to miss moving day because I was still in California! I had a blast though and I know that Keagan did too. I am including a few photos of our trip. It was really fun to see my mom and my sister again. I can't even remember the last time we were able to hang out together just the three of us and I'm not sure when we will be able to do it again. Keagan surprisingly did really well on all of the flights. We had layovers on both flights there and back. He even did really wll the whole trip. We had a couple of bumps along the way but overall the trip was a success! Well I'm having a little trouble finishing this so so long for now!

Mom was having a power nap on the train home!
